French - Quarter 1

BOOK 1

In French class I learned a lot. Like how to say "good morning...my name is...." Bonjour!! Je m'appelle .......... . When we had tests coming up I didn't think that it was going to be hard!! But I studied anyway, because I wanted to get a good grade, and guess what? I did..which was so unexpected..

I learned how to say the numbers in French. For example: deux, trois, cinq, and dix. I can go up to 20!! vingt, hopefully that is how you spell it.

I have this Word Bank that I put vocabulary in..it is almost the same word bank that I put my words that I don't know in my Language Arts class, but the difference is that I put FRENCH WORDS in it.

We learned how to say fruits and vegetables on page 26. Like poires, pommes, & fraises, which are pears, apples, and strawberries. Some vegetables are: pommes de terre, petits pois, & carottes. They are: potato, peas, and carrots.

We learned how to say the days of the week, and months of the year... Janvier, Fevrier. January, and February...Lundi, Mardi, et Mercredi....Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.

After we have tests, sometimes we can get free time, but I guess it depends on the majority of the class, and if Ms. Joelle says that we can.

We also learned the colors: vert, bleu, blanc, gris, marron, noir, rouge, orange, & jaune. Translation: green, blue, white, gray, brown, black, red, orange, and yellow.

I guess this is the last thing I'm gonna write down for the first booklet, but....we learned how to say the animals: cheval, chat, chien, poisson, elephant, L'oiseau. Translation: horse, cat, dog, fish, elephant, and bird.
BOOK 2

On my second sheet I learned how to say forks & teacups, and some words about time. To me it was really hard to memorize these words, because I had already tried to memorize some words, but it didn't work.

We also learned how to say 8 o'clock in the morning...Il est hurit heures du matin. I also learned how to say other times, too. When I had to learn the times I thought that it was going to be really hard..and it was. I also learned how to say "En France, Sylvie et Paul dine dane un bon restaurant ce soir. " which means "In France, Sylvie and Paul will dine at a good restaurant at night.".

I also learned how to say: les desserts (the desserts), les hors-d'oeuvre (the appetizers), and some other things about restaurants and call the things in the restaurant (mostly).

I learned how to say "I'm cold/I'm hungry" (J'ai froid/J'ai faim). Or anything else that goes with being .....like thirsty, or scared..it depends on the mood I guess.

On page 32, I found out how to say if you are OK, in this case: Qu'est-ce que tu as, Paul? Ca ne va pas? Translation: What's wrong Paul? are you not feeling OK? I got to learn how to say (I have) a headache, sore throat, and you drink too much Coke.

on page 38 I learned how to pronounce: hat, dress, and coat...chapeau, robe, et manteau. We also learned how to way des gants, gloves. Je port...I'm wearing..and on page 39 we did a Vrai and Faux, True or False...about the clothes, I sooo didn't get all of them right the first time.

WORD BANK

A word bank is obviously (by name) a bank that you put words in. We put the French words in & then the word that it means in English. I don't think that we have been using the Z section of the word bank yet...

FRENCH NOTEBOOK

The French notebook is the notebook that has some vocab..and words that we don't have in the Word Bank, I guess like Teacup or the days of the week and the months.
