Quarter One - Language Arts

In Language Arts, we did an autobiography. It tells about our lives with good and bad things in it. I did this autobiography because it shows how much I know my life..plus...we had to put it in.

MY LIFE

On December 25th 1995, my mom was rushed to Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. I, Ashley Randolph was born along with my sister, Michelle, at around 3:17 a.m in the morning. I guess it was snowing, which is pretty obvious in the states.

All of a sudden I stopped breathing, but I breathed again, thank goodness for that! One day, Michelle and I got sleep apnea, and we sleep (it drove my grandma and my mom crazy). Michelle and I got breathing machines, but when they were taken off, my mom and grandma was scared.

When I was a few months old, I came to Saudi Arabia, and lived in Khamis Mushayt, near Abha. I started to go to pre-school.

I met my god-sister Lea Mascaranas. She was really nice, and was sometimes funny. She was also serious sometimes, when someone told an unfunny joke.

My other friend, Ricky, lived next door. Michelle, Ricky, and I were playing outside one day, and a whole pack of frogs came towards his house! We were stuck in his house for a bit.

I left for the States around the age of five. My brother Craig, Michelle, and I lived with our grandparents for about a year. Then finally dad came back and took us to Saudi, and we met Millet, our step-mother. She was nice, and she was a good cook.

We got this really cool looking cat; his name was Goofy, because of his face. He was such a funny cat, but one day he got really sick, and we had to let him go outside at night, because he was scratching on our door, the next day we couldn’t find him, or see him come into the house. We thought that the security guys poisoned the cats, and threw them over the wall. I was really sad for a long time.

When I started school, I went into 1st grade, and I met a friend from pre-school, her name was Azyia Taylor, she was from Louisiana, and I also think Scotland. She showed Michelle and me around our school, Asir Academy. Then I remembered Craig went to this school, and I remembered Mr. Hudson.

In second grade I went into a triathlon with Michelle and Azyia, we got the first place (I was out of breath, because I had to run). When I entered 3rd grade, I had a good start, but we had to share a class with the 4th graders. I started doing track every morning with my friend, Heather Baisley, we ran every morning at the school baseball field on Tuesday and Sunday.

In April (I think), my dad went to go to work in Dhahran (my brother was going into 10th grade). My dad showed Millet, Craig, Michelle and I around the area (not the whole area though). We got to go to Tamimi, and went to Rainbow round about.

We came back to Khamis, to finish our school year. I got the best 3rd grade writer award. When Craig told Michelle and me we had to go to the house, I cried. My friend Azyia cried too. I really didn’t want to leave my home, where I spent most of my life! But inside I knew I was going to start a new beginning, and get new friends.

I went into 4th grade, and my brother, dad, and step-mom went to visit the school. They told me about Mr. Hudson, I knew it was a familiar name. I found out that some people, like Alex S. was in Khamis and it made me feel a bit happier that some people knew what I had been threw.

Today I am a 6th grader, and I am living my life to the fullest. I know that I am still young, and it might seem weird, but I have had a wonderful experience. I am glad of where I stand, and happy I am alive, and living.
